Hillsboro’s The Orenco Hotel is pleased to present a monthly wine tasting and educational series that invites you to get to know a different local winemaker each month and discover what sets their wine apart. Enjoy learning more about our treasured Willamette Valley wine country and experience different wine pairings with neighbors and friends.

Winderlea Vinyard

Winderlea is a luxury boutique winery specializing in the limited production of Pinot noir and Chardonnay from Oregon. Crafting elegant, sensuous and age worthy wines for those who view the pairing of wine and food essential to their lifestyle and well being is what Winderlea is all about. Our focus is on making small lots of Pinot noir and Chardonnay that show the best characteristics of each vineyard. Hand crafted with minimal intervention and the modest use of new French oak barrels, our food friendly wines are classic in style.

Dion Vineyard (July 18th)

For over 30 years, three generations of our family have been stewards to the land and terroir that is Dion Vineyard. We provide premium wine grapes to a wide variety of wineries throughout Oregon. We also produce small quantities of wine for our own label. In our grapes and our wine we strive to achieve a sense of terroir — a sense of the people and the place that are home to these vines. Located in the Northern Willamette Valley, Dion Vineyard is 60 acres of southerly slopes. Our vines, some over 30 years old, are rooted in Laurelwood soils at elevations from 300 to 500 feet. We principally grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. We feel that our vineyard is a very special place and we hope that our wines and grapes will convey a sense of it to you.

Provincial Vineyards (August 15th)

We are a winegrower with a passion for viticulture. Our wine style is driven by the vineyard varietals, rootstocks, clonal selection and viticulture practices. The vineyard, while personally attended by the family owners, uses an industry custom-crush paradigm for wine production. The model combines our viticulture passion with the experience of one of the premier winemakers in the North Willamette Valley to produce the best possible wines from our terrior. Our vineyard is ideally nestled amongst the Coastal Range foothills of the Willamette Valley AVA.

Helvetia Vineyards and Winery (September 12th)

Helvetia Vineyards and Winery is on the northern rim of the Tualatin Valley on the southwest face of the West Hills of Portland (Tualatin Mountain) in the community of Helvetia. It is the closest winery to the city of Portland (only 25 minutes away). The vineyards and winery are located four miles north of highway 26, the main artery connecting Portland with Oregon’s north coast, so it's a great place to stop on the way to the beach.
